THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD

“They will be called the Holy People, THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD; and you will be called Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted.” Isa.62:12

Right from the Garden of Eden, after the fall of man (Gen.3), man became subject to the same environment, circumstance and situations that he was initially blessed to dominate (Gen.1:26-28). Man lost the dominion mandate to Satan (John 14:30; Matt.4:8-10) willfully by becoming obedient to his lies and deceit.

Man embarked on a fruitless search to be rescued from the dominion of Satan and be reconciled back to God:

“If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together, someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more. Then I would speak up without fear of him, but as it now stands with me, I cannot.” Job 9:33-35

Jesus showed up and paid that ultimate price to set free as many that would appropriate the completed redemptive work on the cross of Calvary.

“….Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good” Titus 2:13-14
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” (1Pet. 1:18-19)

If our redemption was that expensive, it definitely must be valuable. However not knowing the privileges that redemption bequeath to us as the redeemed of the Lord, has made many to remain subservient to the devil and his atrocities.

Redemption qualifies us to be sons and daughters of the most high God and opens unto us the unlimited benefits of the kingdom (1 John 3:1). By redemption our identity is changed (2 Cor.5:17) and we are translated from the dominion of darkness into the kingdom of light (Col.1:13).

By the new birth, God grants us access to partake in the eternal life given by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary (John 3:16). The new birth qualifies us to live the supernatural life even in a natural world (John 3:8), because we have been translated from the kingdom (the dominion) of darkness into the kingdom of light (Col.1:13-14).

This translation implies that even though I am on the earth presently, I am a citizen of the kingdom of God (Phil.3:20). As a citizen of heaven, everything about me is determined by heaven and not by the earthly circumstances around me. I am only limited by the Kingdom and not any forces of darkness around the earth (Eph.2:5-6; 1:19-21). We have been rescued from poverty and sickness (Isa.53:3-5; Matt.8:17; 2Cor.8:9). Indeed, redemption welcomes you to the life of a consistent overcomer (1 Jhn.5:4).

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Ps.103:1-5

HAS THE LORD REDEEMED YOU? THEN SPEAK OUT! TELL OTHERS HE HAS REDEEMED YOU FROM YOUR ENEMIES. – PSA. 107:2

You are blessed.
