Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thess.3:16
God has made available His covenant of peace for everyone that will accept the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary.
However, to activate that covenant we need to commit ourselves to the demands that the covenant places on us. One of such demands is that our minds must be guided, ruled, governed, directed and controlled by the Spirit (Rom.8:6).
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Rom.8:6
Being spiritually minded is your consistent consciousness of your spiritual dimension and of God’s presence in our lives. Many easily lose their peace and joy as they go through life because they lose consciousness of the ever-abiding presence of God.
….God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Heb.13:5-6
“…and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt.28:20
His presence guarantees our Peace because He has overcome the world and has become the Prince of Peace.
The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Ex.33:14
His presence is available for anyone that desires Him above all else:
“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. Jer. 29:12-13 MSG
When we are always conscious of His presence, we are sure of a lasting Peace that is not dependent on the happenings around us. To carry His Presence means we need to be obedient to His instructions, just like the Sheep will always follow the leading of the Shepherd.
This understanding brings to life the wordings of the 23rd Psalm:
The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
His peace is for you, desire His presence above all else.
You are blessed.
